On Our Radar

Last Friday, my wife and I sat down to a dainty feast at the meticulously decorated The Belden House in Litchfield. If you haven't had the chance yet, we definitely recommend stopping in for a drink at ‘the jewel box’ - their inspired emerald green bar room, or making reservations for a decadent, yet somehow light and vibrant, five-course meal to celebrate an occasion. While it’s definitely on the pricier side, the ambiance, creativity in flavors, and service more than made it worth it. I recommend the Braised Short Rib, Sunchoke, and Persimmon for $38 — honestly, a steal for the quality. My wife had the Mackerel, Cannellini Beans, Clams, and Preserved Lemon, which she absolutely loved. Make sure to try the olive oil ice cream for dessert and let them know the Ledger sent you!
